I wanna know: How come when Demi Lovato comes out with a self-harm addiction and an eating disorder, she’s suddenly the strongest person alive? But when a normal person comes out with it, they’re emo, they want attention, they’re pathetic and they need to shut up? What is wrong with the world? How come the only way people will care is if you’re dead or famous? I don’t get it. No, Demi’s life has not been easy, but she’s not stronger than anyone else suffering from an addiction. She’s not more special. She’s not any different. If anything, she has it easier. Most people can’t afford to go to expensive ass treatment centers. They don’t all have millions of people there to support them. No, usually they don’t have anyone because of how fucked up and ignorant society is. I just don’t get why people act like she’s just so perfect for entering recovery. Had her parents not intervened, she wouldn’t have gone. And I bet you anything, had she not been famous, had she not known how many people would be against her if she did this, she would have checked herself out of Rehab. I’m not saying she’s not strong, or that she hasn’t suffered. I just don’t get why people treat her like the best person on the planet and then act like normal people who suffer from the same damn things are attention-seeking losers who need to grow up.
